About the Event
By registering for this event, you will receive access to the Year 8 on-demand incursion, MY PLACE IN A DIGITAL WORLD for Be Digitally Wise Week, Monday 19 October – Friday 23 October 2026. A link to access the recording will be emailed to registered participants on Thursday 15 October. The recording will be available to access and use throughout Be Digitally Wise Week.
Year 8 students will explore how their personal data is exposed online, how AI uses information, and how to stay in control. In this on-demand incursion students will learn how to:
Recognise how personal data is shared – often without realising
Understand how AI and third parties use data, and ways to protect privacy
Identify the risks of location sharing, digital tracking, and AI-powered recommendations
Learn about sextortion, Image-Based Abuse (IBA), deepfakes, and digital laws
