On 3 May 2023, Catholic Network Australia's Education Working Group hosted the 2023 CNA Leaders Symposium in Sydney. Around 30 education and IT leaders gathered for an excellent day of learning, collaboration and networking.
For many participants, the event was the first collaborative, in-person session with colleagues from other dioceses for years. It was great to witness the impact of being physically present together and the strength of the network. Despite the many distinct roles and titles in the room, the group was unified in their ambition to advance Catholic Education.
The agenda captured a range of topics from gaining hands on experience with new AI tools to small group activities. Trent Ray facilitated an insightful day of learning as we discussed at length all aspects of AI in education. We recognise the excitement it presents and the responsibility we have to promote responsible AI.
A panel discussion in the afternoon with Danielle Purdy, Sharyn Creed, Steven Newman, Tony Panetta, provided insights and rich conversations on topics affecting dioceses.
