The CNA Minecraft Jubilee Build has proven to be a powerful celebration of creativity, faith, and student voice. This year’s challenge invited learners from across Australia to explore the Catholic Year of Jubilee – Pilgrims of Hope through an immersive Minecraft Education experience. Using the beautifully crafted “Peter is Here: Vatican” world, students from Years 3–9 were tasked with designing and building a symbol of hope that expressed their personal connection to Jubilee themes of renewal, mercy, and God’s enduring presence.

Working individually or in teams, students created meaningful structures inside a dedicated Jubilee space in St Peter’s Square. Their mission was to bring to life a symbol that showed:

  • A thoughtful connection to the Jubilee message

  • Creative use of Minecraft blocks, textures, and features

  • Clear expression of symbolism and meaning

  • Strong visual and structural design

From bridges representing reconciliation, to pathways with open gates signaling welcome, to crosses, doves, trees, and towers of light—students harnessed Minecraft to express faith through digital craftsmanship. Many used signs and NPCs to narrate their story, deepening the connection between their build and the Jubilee theme Pilgrims of Hope.

Judging & Selection

Entries were judged across four criteria—connection to theme, creativity, symbolism, and build quality—at performance levels ranging from Emerging to Excellent. Across every year level, students demonstrated impressive imagination and heartfelt reflection, making the judging process both inspiring and delightfully challenging.

A limited number of prize packs—featuring Jubilee merchandise and Minecraft prizes—were awarded to projects that excelled across all criteria.

A Celebration of Learning and Faith

Congratulations to all participating students and school communities. Your willingness to explore hope through digital storytelling reflects the very heart of the Jubilee invitation: to look forward with courage, joy, and renewed purpose.

A special round of applause to our 2025 winning teams from Years 3–7, whose creations are showcased below. Their work stands as a testament to the thoughtful connections young people can make when faith and creativity intersect.

Thank you to every teacher who supported the challenge. Through preparation guides, classroom conversations, and the shared excitement of building together, you helped students express something profoundly meaningful—hope.
